Finally, Jims quest to finally free himself from slavery by escaping to the north represents, literally, the same quest that 1000s of African slaves were forced to endure in the 1800s. Jims story is one of such unimaginable events, which can all be traced back to the moment when Huck, by sheer luck (that rhymed keke) came across Jim on Jackson Island. It came as a shock to both of them, and when Huck asked Jim how he managed to make it to Jackson Island, golly did he have quite a story to tell. I laid dah under de shavins all day. Andromeda
This is the constellation Andromeda, which contains the Andromeda Galaxy. Andromeda was the daughter of Cassiopeia and Cepheus. When her mother, Cassiopeia, bragged that she was more beautiful than even the Nereids, Poseidon sent the sea monster, Cetus, to ravage the seas of the kingdom as a punishment. When they consulted with the Oracle of Zeus, it was said that Cetus's rampage would go on untill the king offered Andromeda as a sacrafice; so the king did just so. He had Andromeda tied to a rock for sacrifice, and she would have died had it not been for Perseus slaying the monster and rescuing her. After that the two got married and had 7 kids. When Andromeda died, it's said that Athena placed her amongst the constellations near Perseus.

Milky Way (Via Lactea)
The Milky Way is our galaxy, a collection of millions upon millions of stars, and is said to have been formed accidentally by Phaethon. Phaethon was the son of Apollo. When he realized that Apollo was his father, he went to him and Apollo swore on the river Styx to give Phaethon anything that he asked for to prove his 'divine paternity'. Not seeing anything greater, Phaethon asked that he be able drive the Sun Chariot for a day. As much as Apollo tried to get his son to change his mind, Phaethon just wouldn't give in. When the day finally came, as soon as Phaethon attempted to gain control of the horses, they sped off out of control. It's said that when this happened, the heavens were set on fire, thus creating the Milky Way.
