Additionally, the teenager, Donny, from Teenage Wasteland, portrays what life is like for someone who wants nothing more than to be absolutely free from the shackles of society. Donny is what can be said to be a typical 15 year old teenager, going through the difficult times in his life that come with being 15. He doesn’t like school, hardly ever does his work, and feels his parents are to… protective would be one way to put it. While talking with his tutor, Cal, that he’s assigned too, he says that, “His parents were too controlling -- a word that made Daisy give him a sudden look” (1172). Even when his parents tried loosening up on their rules over Donny and he slightly showed an improvement in his behavior, his ‘freedom’ was short lived, as his parents simply couldn’t trust him to make the right decision. How long can someone endure the constant nagging to ‘get their act together’, when in reality all they really needed was unconditional love from their parents. For Donny it proved to be too much, and, “the first week in June, during final exams, Donny vanished. He simply didn’t come ho one afternoon” (1177). When most people see someone or hear about someone like Donny, they automatically assume the kid is a reject or a failure, no one ever sees the truth through the eyes of those who are truly suffering.

Finally, Jim’s quest to finally free himself from slavery by escaping to the north represents, literally, the same quest that 1000’s of African slaves were forced to endure in the 1800’s. Jim’s story is one of such unimaginable events, which can all be traced back to the moment when Huck, by sheer luck (that rhymed keke) came across Jim on Jackson Island. It came as a shock to both of them, and when Huck asked Jim how he managed to make it to Jackson Island, golly did he have quite a story to tell. “…I laid dah under de shavin’s all day. I ‘uz hungry, but I waren’t afread…” (44).

Andromeda
This is the constellation Andromeda, which contains the Andromeda Galaxy. Andromeda was the daughter of Cassiopeia and Cepheus. When her mother, Cassiopeia, bragged that she was more beautiful than even the Nereids, Poseidon sent the sea monster, Cetus, to ravage the seas of the kingdom as a punishment. When they consulted with the Oracle of Zeus, it was said that Cetus's rampage would go on untill the king offered Andromeda as a sacrafice; so the king did just so. He had Andromeda tied to a rock for sacrifice, and she would have died had it not been for Perseus slaying the monster and rescuing her. After that the two got married and had 7 kids. When Andromeda died, it's said that Athena placed her amongst the constellations near Perseus.

Aquarius
This is the constellation Aquarius (Water Bearer) which is said to represent Ganymedes, the cup bearer of the gods. One day while Ganymede was on Mount Ida in Phyrigia, Zeus laid eyes upon Ganymede and instantly fell in love with him ( D: ). Taking the shape of an Eagle, Zeus swept down and carried Ganymede off to Mount Olympus. Ganymede would serve the gods as their cup bearer and was eventually placed among the constellations by Zeus.

Taurus (Bull)
This is the constellation known as Taurus, and it represents the form Zeus once took in order to attain Europa. The story goes that one day while Europa and 2 other ladies were gathering flowers, Zeus took the form of a tame white bull and mixed in with her fathers herd. When Europa saw the bull, she couldn't help but pet it, and eventually hopped on it's back. Seizing the opportunity, Zeus sped off across the sea and took Europa to Crete.

Cassiopeia
This is the constellation Cassiopeia. Cassiopeia was the wife of King Cepheus, who was very beautiful, and with that beauty came arrogance and vain. It became well known that Cassiopeia believed that her daughter Andromeda and herself were more beautiful than all the Nereids. After Poseidon attempted to punish Cassiopeia by forcing her to sacrifice her daughter, which didn't work out too well, he decided that she shouldn't go unpunished herself. So Poseidon placed Cassiopeia among the stars in such a way that as she circle the celestial pole, she is upside-down half the time.

Cepheus
This is the constellation Cepheus. Cepheus was the King of Aethiopia. He had a wife named Cassiopei whose arrogance almost cost them their daughter. Her name is Andromeda, and she was supposed to marry Cepheus's brother (gross) Phineus, but instead married Perseus. Amongst the constellations, Cepheus is surrounded by Andromeda, Perseus, Cassiopeia, and even Cetus.

Auriga (Charioteer)
This is the constellation Auriga, which represents Myrtilus. Myrtilus was the son of Hermes and the Charioteer of King Oenomaus. In a horse race that would determine the marriage of Pelops and Hippodameia, Pelops wanted Myrtilus to sabatoge Oenomaus so that he would lose the race. The agreement was that if Myrtilus agreed to do so, he would be allowed the first night with Hippodameia. He did just so and when he went to seduce Hippodameia she fled to Pelops, crying. Enraged, Pelops killed Myrtilus by tossing him into the sea.

Cancer (Crab)
This is the constellation Cancer, or Crab, and represents the crab that played a role during one of Hercules 12 Labors. While Hercules was battling with the Hydra, the Queen of the gods, Hera, who despised Hercules, sent a crab to try and distract Hercules. The crab pinched onto Hercules feet, but barely fazed, he crushed the crab with his foot. Hera, grateful of the crabs heroic effort, placed him among the stars.

Ursa Major (Great Bear)
This is the constellation Ursa Major, which represents Callisto. Callisto was a nymph of Artemis and thus, had vowed to remain a virgin, as all nymphs of Artemis did. Zeus, though, simply had to have her, so it's said that he disguised himself as either Apollo or Artemis and seduced her into his embrace and raped her. 9 months later while bathing with Artemis and the other nymphs, she was discovered to be pregnant and Artemis was so enraged that he kicked Callisto out of the group. After she had her son, Arcas, Zeus turned her into a bear. 16 years later, while her son was out hunting and was about to kill his own mother unknowingly (Hera set it up), Zeus placed both Callisto and son amongst the stars in the form of bears; Ursa Major and Ursa Minor.

Milky Way (Via Lactea)
The Milky Way is our galaxy, a collection of millions upon millions of stars, and is said to have been formed accidentally by Phaethon. Phaethon was the son of Apollo. When he realized that Apollo was his father, he went to him and Apollo swore on the river Styx to give Phaethon anything that he asked for to prove his 'divine paternity'. Not seeing anything greater, Phaethon asked that he be able drive the Sun Chariot for a day. As much as Apollo tried to get his son to change his mind, Phaethon just wouldn't give in. When the day finally came, as soon as Phaethon attempted to gain control of the horses, they sped off out of control. It's said that when this happened, the heavens were set on fire, thus creating the Milky Way.
